My girls were thrilled I was selected to host a #DisneySide @Home Celebration! We were especially happy to learn that our theme was “Disney Villains”.

SparkyOpening the Disney Side box was very exciting for the girls, and for our dog Sparky, too. They couldn’t wait to dig in and see what was provided for the party.

In our box we found all sorts of good things, including invitations, decorations, themed plates, cups, napkins and a tablecloth in the Maleficent color scheme of black, purple, and green. A Mickey Mouse cake pan, Duff Goldman Tie Dye cake mix, sprinkes to create an amazing cake (we ended up making cupcakes), plus all sorts of goodies to use and giveaway… nail polish and nail files, games, word searches, puzzles, My Image Bracelet Maker, HP photo paper packs, Twinings Tea, plus luggage tags, Disney vacation planning DVDs and More!

And something that a mom with five daughters needs a TON of, All Mighty Pacs and Wisk laundry detergent!

I have five daughters, ages 7, 10, 12, 14, and 16. So planning a party that appeals to all of their ages might seem difficult, but truthfully this was one of the easiest parties I’ve ever planned.

The secret is to offer multiple activities that appeal to every age. We decided to keep it simple and do a movie and game night. We played a movie that all ages love, had games that were appropriate for young kids as well as the tweens and teens, provided crafts and puzzles with different difficulties so everyone could participate, and of course, good FOOD which at the very least kept my teens downstairs during the entire party!

We planned a movie screening of Maleficent, one of our favorite Disney movies, had several fun board games to play, Disney Headbanz, Frozen Monopoly and Eye Found It that I found inexpensively at Amazon.com, some trivia and word searches that were provided by Mom Select, plus some tasty food including pizza and cupcakes.

First, we screened Maleficent while the guests arrived and I was setting up the food and drinks. All the kids enjoyed watching the movie but since nearly all of them had already seen it, after a while I could see we were losing a few. This is when I suggested some of the kids play a game.

We had kids of all ages participate and everyone had a good time. I think Disney Headbanz was the group favorite!

For food we again stayed with the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Silly) theme. I picked up some Papa Murphy’s pizzas and created a Mickey shaped pizza, we had dried fruit crisps from Brothers-All-Natural, Foodles from Crunch Pak and of course, Duff Goldman’s Tie Died cupcakes.

Our goody bags were a big hit. We discovered that Subway was giving away Mickey Mouse messenger bags with kids meals, so a couple of times last month we treated the girls to Subway and collected the bags. We filled the goody bags with Maleficent nail polish and nail file, Disney puzzle, the Disney themed word search, matching game, trivia cards, and more!

When the little ones were finished playing games we made bracelets with the My Image Bracelet Maker.

We had the most fun showing our Disney Side! After everyone had gone home and my kids were off to bed. I was able to put my feet up, catch up on Scandal and enjoy a nice cup of Twinings Tea.

How fun! It is really hard to throw a party with such a wide age range, but it looks like you pulled it off! Love the pizza idea! Thanks for linking up with us for #MagicalMonday!
