Idina Menzel Holiday Wishes [music]

While putting up our Christmas Tree over the weekend, my family and I listened to Holiday Wishes, a Christmas album recorded by Tony Award-winning singer/actor Idina Menzel. You probably know her as Elsa in Disney’s global box-office smash Frozen, in which she sings the film’s Oscar-winning song “Let It Go.”.

Idina’s career has traversed stage, film, television, and music. After her performance of the multi-platinum song at the 86th annual Academy Awards, she made history as the first person with both a Billboard Top 10 hit and a Tony Award for acting.

In Holiday Wishes, Idina gives a new voice to some truly wonderful holiday classics! With her powerful vocals and amazing talent, there isn’t a bad song on the whole album. But by far, everyone’s favorite is the duet with Michael Buble “Baby It’s Cold Outside”. We especially love the music video!

I love Idina’s soft, jazzy singing style on Holiday Wishes. One of my favorites is “The Christmas Song”, she just nailed it. I love how she brings an original sound to “Silent Night” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, both songs are enhanced by her amazing vocals and fresh take on the classic Christmas song. Another favorite is “River”, it sounds like the song was written just for her.

This will definitely become one of our favorite Christmas albums!
