Joy Williams - Venus

Joy Williams – Venus [music]

Disclosure: I participated in the Joy Williams Venus album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own. Honestly, before I was asked to review this album I had no idea who Joy Williams was. That is, until I read she was one-half of the four-time Grammy Award-winning folk-rock duo The Civil Wars. I have several of their albums and especially love the popular songs “Dust to Dust” and “The One That Got Away“, not to mention the Taylor Swift Hunger Games song “Safe & Sound” in which they were featured. The Civil Wars broke up in August 2014 citing “internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition” as reasons for why they were “unable to continue as a touring entity.” Food Advertising by   Williams …

Idina Menzel Holiday Wishes [music]

Disclosure: I participated in the Idina Menzel Holiday Wishes album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own. While putting up our Christmas Tree over the weekend, my family and I listened to Holiday Wishes, a Christmas album recorded by Tony Award-winning singer/actor Idina Menzel. You probably know her as Elsa in Disney’s global box-office smash Frozen, in which she sings the film’s Oscar-winning song “Let It Go.”. Food Advertising by Idina’s career has traversed stage, film, television, and music. After her performance of the multi-platinum song at the 86th annual Academy Awards, she made history as the first person with both a Billboard Top 10 hit and a Tony Award for acting. In Holiday Wishes, Idina gives …

New Music from Mary Lambert: Heart On My Sleeve [music review]

If you’ve never heard of Mary Lambert, you will shortly. Her album Heart On My Sleeve dropped on October 14th and it is phenomenal! If you feel like the name is familiar but you can’t quite place it, let me give you a little refresher… she wrote and sang the hook on this 2012 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis song… and it transformed her career! Food Advertising by After struggling financially and personally for years, the 25 year old singer’s career took off when she sang the hook “She Keeps Me Warm” for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ hit “Same Love” in 2012. Train – Bulletproof Picasso [review] #BulletproofPicasso #O2O

I have loved Train ever since I took my girls to see them in concert at a local summer festival, just before they became really popular. I wasn’t expecting much, I mean we lived in a relatively small town, how good could the band be, right? I was blown away. We weren’t planning to stay through the whole concert as my little ones were cranky and it was past their bedtime. But once the music started everyone settled down and enjoyed the show. Every last second of it! I picked up the CD the next day and my girls and I listened to “Meet Virginia”, “Calling All Angels”, “When I Look to the Sky” and “Get to Me” over and over. When “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey Soul, Sister” came out I immediately …
