Tasty Tuesday – Copycat Nan and Byron’s Train Wreck Fries

On Friday, I attended my monthly Moms’ Night Out Charlotte blogger meet and greet. This time it was at the ah-maz-ing Nan and Byron’s restaurant in Charlotte. I had such a wonderful evening visiting with friends, sampling the menu, and savoring a couple of their specialty libations. The Cadillac Jalapeno Margarita (Patron, Citrus Juices, muddled fresh jalapeno, topped with Grand Marnier-flavored Cadillac Foam and cayenne pepper) and the Farmhouse Lemonade (Bacardi Limon, Strawberry Vodka, Limoncello, citrus juices, muddled fresh strawberries and lemon) were two favorites. Tasty Tuesday – Summer Shandy Strawberry Lemonade Punch

  I’m not a big drinker, but I do love me a margarita on the rocks now and then, and nothing beats an ice cold beer in the summer. I tend to like lighter, refreshing drinks. And I’m not big on beers with anything added into them (like oranges, lemons). So I was skeptical when my neighbor handed me a Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy while we were outside last Friday night. Tasty Tuesday – Easy and Delicious Ice Cream Cake

Since we are coming up to the official kick-off of summer, I thought I’d share my kids’ all-time favorite dessert. It’s perfect for any upcoming Memorial Day Weekend festivities you might have planned. And the best part is how fast and easy it is to make. You can make it ahead of time or prepare it an hour before you need it, either way pop it in the freezer until you are ready. (If your party is outside and it’s a really hot day, it’s better to make the ice cream cake a few hours ahead of time so it’s good and frozen before you take it outside, otherwise you will have ice cream soup in no time.)
