Copy Cat Chick-fil-A Garden Market Salad

Copycat Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad

My favorite salad is a Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad. It’s sooo good. The flavors are so yummy together and honestly I could eat one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day and not get tired of it! But I always crave it on Sunday when Chick-fil-A is closed! So now I just make my own (if I can keep berries in the house, my kids can eat them by the pound faster than locusts!) You just have to try it!! Now I tweaked the Chick-fil-A recipe a little bit towards my personal tastes. I don’t like blue cheese so I used goat cheese crumbles, and I like a lot of flavors and textures in my salad so I added some dried cherries. Their tartness goes really well with the sweet strawberries and tangy …

Peppermint Hot Chocolate Whoopie Pies

Peppermint Hot Chocolate Whoopie Pies

The birth of Holiday Baking day and how Peppermint Hot Chocolate Whoopie Pies came to be. Over the past three and a half years, due to my husband’s job, we have moved four times and lived in four different states. Three years ago my girls had a particularly hard time over winter break. We hadn’t lived in Alabama very long. There were no visits from family, no friends to have over for hot chocolate, no holiday parties to attend, no secret Santa exchanges… all of the fun things that most people participate in during winter break. My husband was out of work and we didn’t have the extra money for the girls to buy gifts for each other, something they looked forward to every year. After thinking about what we could do that would be …

Eggnog Bread with Eggnog Cream Cheese Icing

Eggnog Bread with Eggnog Cream Cheese Icing

I’ve had a love affair with eggnog since I was little. When I was around 7 years old my mom, who was an elementary school librarian, brought home a cookbook with simple recipes that kids could make on their own. One of the recipes was a no-cook eggnog that my brothers and I must have made 1,000 times; it was so yummy. I’ve managed to pass my eggnog obsession on to my girls. Every time they see eggnog in the store they beg me to buy it. With the holidays approaching eggnog is a staple in our house. So when I ran across my friend Jenni Field’s (Pastry Chef Online) recipe for Eggnog Cream Cheese Frosting I knew I needed to find something to spread it on! I was contemplating pound cake when …

It’s no secret that I love margaritas. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite, but in the fall I especially love to make cranberry margaritas. The perfect mix of sweet and tart. A festive cocktail for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any time of the year! This is a great recipe everyone will love so be sure to make a big batch to share! Apple Muffins with Apple Cider Cream Cheese Glaze

Apple Muffins with Apple Cider Cream Cheese Glaze

I know I am the minority on this one, but pumpkin spice everything is not my favorite thing about fall. Although I do like pumpkin bread and chai tea, my fall obsession is apples. My daughters and I love apples so much we go through about 15 pounds of them every week! We try to make it to the local orchard at least once every fall. The kids love it! We have so much fun riding the hay ride, picking apples, drinking hot apple cider, and of course, eating apple cider doughnuts. We always end up bringing a couple of dozen home with us. I’ve tried to replicate those doughnuts many times without success. The recipes have been okay; I just haven’t found that perfect one yet. On my last attempt, the doughnuts were …

All opinions are mine alone. #EatLightEatRight #CollectiveBias I can eat soup anytime… it doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside, a piping hot bowl of Progresso® soup always hits the spot for me. It is a staple in my pantry; I stock up on all the amazing Progresso® Light varieties especially when they are on sale at Walmart. It’s a quick and easy meal that’s filling but low in calories. Perfect on those busy days when I don’t have a lot of time to make lunch. One day I had a major craving for my tortilla soup but I didn’t have all the ingredients on hand. I looked around my pantry to see what I could make and a light bulb went off. I …

Did you know August is National Sandwich Month? My family has been eating a lot of sandwiches this month. Not because we are celebrating National Sandwich Month, but because I haven’t had time to actually cook! “Mom! What’s for dinner?” “I’m working. Make a sandwich.” “Not sandwiches again!!” “It’s that or go hungry.” “UGH!!!!” Between work, back to school shopping, unpacking from our move, and my firstborn heading off to college, August has been one of the toughest months for me. The only reason …

Although I was supplied products and/or compensated for writing this post, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I only recommend products or services I believe in, and use myself. I have a confession. I hate basketball. Well, hate is a strong word. I went to a couple of Knicks Games when I lived in the Northeast and enjoyed the live action, but I’d rather read tax code than watch the Final whatever of basketball. But I do love to entertain and if everyone else wants to gather here to watch the big game, who am I to interfere?!? I have a few go to munchies that I love to serve, …
