When I was little, my grandmother would buy the best stuff from the Schwan’s man! We especially loved their frozen fruit.
When I moved out to the East Coast I missed the Schwan’s truck. After we moved South, I would occasionally see a truck on the road but never in my area. Last week while coming home from an event, I so was excited to see a Schwan’s truck driving through our neighborhood I actually squealed! My daughter looked at me like I was crazy, lol.
I loved that we could stock up the freezer with wholesome items from Schwan’s that were easy to prepare and delicious. And we knew if we ever had an issue with anything we bought (which never happened) Schwan’s would make it right, no matter what.
My favorite recipe my grandma made was a Triple Berry Pie Crumble using Schwan’s Triple Berry Blend. It was so good! I can still taste it. Sweet and tart, with a wonderful crunch from the crumble topping.
We LOVED to eat it when it was still warm from the oven, covered in Schwan’s vanilla ice cream. But it was just as good cold from the fridge. Grandma would even let us eat it for breakfast when we stayed overnight. What a way to start the day!!
I’ve adapted her recipe a bit over the years, cutting back on some of the sugar and butter, but it is still just as delicious!

Triple Berry Pie Crumble
Super easy and delicious recipe that will make your guests think you were cooking all day. I like to make this in a springform pan lined with parchment paper, but you can use a 9X13 baking dish to simplify things.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Schwan's Triple Berry blend, partially defrosted by leaving out on the counter for about 30 minutes
- 5 C flour
- 5 C rolled oats
- 3 1/2 C brown sugar
- 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 C butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine, flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon, mix well.
- Add in the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Use 2/3 of the mixture as a crust, by pressing into the bottom and sides of a parchment paper lined, 9-inch springform pan or use a greased 9X13 baking dish.
- Cover with Schwan's Triple Berry blend.
- Sprinkle the rest of the crumble mixture over the berries.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbly and the crumble is golden brown.
- Cool at least 10 minutes.
- Serve warm or cold.

I'm dreaming of a having a few meals delivered via Schwans.. Once when a blogger we knew was having trouble we all pooled together and shipped her a few meals via Schwans since we couldn't just make her a casserole ya know?!! Brilliant idea I thought.. (wish it had been mine!) 🙂
We would always order a ton of meats during the summer for family cookouts. All my aunts and my mom would go in and split the cost. Then we’d grill out every Saturday until school started.
Looks delicious! I usually do cobblers with my berries, but I think I'll try this next time. 🙂
I'm hungry. Do you deliver? If so, I'll put the coffee on!
Yum! Pinning this to save for later!!
Oh my word, that looks amazing! Warm with ice cream? Mmmm, yes please. I think I need to go bake now. 🙂
