As a work from home mom you would think that I’d have MORE time to cook a nice dinner every night for my family. But honestly between chauffeuring the girls back and forth from school, errands, carting the girls off to robotics, girl scouts and/or whatever other after-school activities they have, PLUS completing my client work that never seems to end (NOT that I’m complaining), some nights my girls are lucky to get cold cereal for dinner. To keep them from contacting Child Protective Services I decided to stock our freezer with some quick and easy dinner options that they can prepare themselves when I’m working late.
I picked up several packages of Tyson® Chicken Nuggets, (click here for a coupon to SAVE $1.00 on any one (1) Tyson® Nuggets Product, Expires:11/23/2015) including Tyson® Chicken Fun Nuggets that are shaped like dinosaurs, on my regular trip to our Walmart Neighborhood Market because who doesn’t like chicken nuggets? Tyson® Chicken Nuggets are easy and yummy and don’t require much forethought to get them on the table. [stextbox id=”info” color=”FFFFFF” bgcolor=”242B7C” bgcolorto=”224098″]Right now if you buy ANY TWO (2) specially marked packages of Tyson® Chicken Products or State Fair® Corn Dogs you can receive up to $9.00 toward one child admission to see The Peanuts Movie available only in theaters.
My kids have be talking about The Peanuts Movie since the trailer came out last summer. Watch the trailer here. It’s going to be an awesome movie![/stextbox]
After about the 4th night that week of serving Tyson® Chicken Nuggets my girls were ready to stage a mutiny. Too much of a good thing and all. I was trying to think up something creative to make with the options I had in the freezer and pantry when my 15 yo asked me to make chicken parm.
A light bulb went off in my head. I have nearly everything I need to make chicken parm! If I substitute the breaded chicken breast with Tyson® Chicken Nuggets I could make a fun version of chicken parm and it will be ready in about 20 minutes. The best part is, it’s so easy to do my kids can help make it (well, the three who actually like to cook)!
We had a little fun with the recipe by not only using Tyson® Chicken Nuggets, but also adding some Tyson® Chicken Fun Nuggets and sticking the dinosaurs’ heads up through the cheese like they were in the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits. The girls thought this was hilarious. And the dish turned out to be a big success… the girls LOVED it.
I love that there’s nearly always leftovers. My girls are super active and need to do some protein powered snacking when they get home from school before heading off to that afternoon’s activity. They can just pop it in the microwave to reheat and have a quick snack to tide them over until dinner.
This has become one of their favorite meals. Well, except the time I used veggie spaghetti made with pureed tomatoes and carrots. That didn’t go over very well, but the Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips were all devoured after the girls scraped off the spaghetti!

- 1 - two pound package of spaghetti
- 1 - 45 oz jar pasta sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese, to taste
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti al dente following directions on the box.
- While the pasta is cooking, bake the Tyson® Chicken nuggets/strips as instructed on the package, but remove from oven about four minutes before finished cooking.
- Drain the pasta, and place into a baking dish.
- Layer with pasta sauce and then the Tyson® Chicken (I like to poke some of the dinosaurs heads out of the cheese).

- Bake until cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Place on a serving place and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
- Enjoy!
